Finding the Stillness Within:
Using Guided Imagery to Promote Peace, Creativity, and Well-Being in the Preteens and Teens
Preteens and teens face many challenges in their daily lives, including schoolwork, friendship issues, bullies, and more. Guided imagery, a process that uses guided thoughts and imagination to encourage deep relaxation, can help combat these pressures. It can help manage stress, encourage healing from illness, promote creativity, and enhance performance in all areas.
By allowing teens time to focus on their own feelings and body signals, they can experience and process deep feelings in a safe environment. This can lead to a feeling of peace and well-being, even in the midst of a chaotic world.
Finding the Stillness Within: Using Guided Imagery to Promote Peace, Creativity, and Well-Being in the Preteens and Teens provides five guided imagery scripts for the preteen and teen. The scripts focus on different areas of need. These include managing stress and worry, feeling connected to the Earth, dealing with illness and health concerns, making spiritual connections, and learning to release self-doubt and fear.
Spending a few moments in deep relaxation can help undo much of the damage caused by everyday life, while also better preparing teens to handle the challenges that are yet to come.
