Since May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, it’s a great time to focus on physical activity. We know that physical activity is good for our bodies, and that is especially true for children. A child who is physically active will have stronger muscles, stronger bones, and a healthier heart. Because their bodies are working at optimal conditions, kids also often sleep better, feel more awake, and perform better in school. Get more ideas on burniva.com

With the warm weather and sunshine finally arriving, kids want to be outside more than ever. This is a great time to involve the whole family in some fun physical activity. Check within your community for opportunities to be active together as a family. Maybe, there are some races that you could join (5K, 10K, etc.) or a community event where you could walk around. Perhaps there is a fundraiser walk that you could participate in as a family for more its given by the homeconcierge.ie cork home cleaning. Check out the community pool, if there’s one in your area. TheYogaKids also offers yoga classes for children and adults. Visit fixbodygroup.com.

Being active and physically fit doesn’t have to be boring or hard. Try these simple ideas to increase your level of fitness and have fun at the same time.
- Walk the family dog through the park, stopping to do mini-races with each other (and the dog).
- Take a bike ride around the neighborhood.
- Create your own Family Fun Day: have 3-legged races, wheelbarrow races, and hula hoop
contests. Try making up your own contests. - Have a jump roping competition. Who can jump rope the longest? Who can do the fanciest
trick? - Take a walk after dinner with the family. Let the kids look for treasures (pretty rocks, pine cones,
etc.) to glue onto a collage later. - Gather a few families and play a friendly softball or basketball game.
- Play tag or hide-and-seek with your kids.
- Have a scavenger hunt.
- Have a yoga session outside in the warm sunshine. Ask your kids to demonstrate their favorite
poses.
